ROYAL DE LUXE PRESENTS "EL XOLO"

Back from Mexico, Royal de Luxe, the popular street theater company, will invest the city center of Nantes from 27 to 29 May with his latest creation: "El Xolo. The saga of the Giants returned to earth Nantes.
In November 2010, Royal de Luxe made a stopover in the city of Guadalajara in Mexico with "The Giant of Guadalajara," a new show conceived and designed by Jean-Luc Courcoult, founder and director of the company. Presented as part of the Bicentennial of Mexican Independence and the centenary of the Revolution, this show full of poetry, magic and surrealism, was a resounding success. More than 3.5 million viewers made it a triumph stunned the Giants and their faithful Lilliputians.
After Guadalajara, it was the turn of Nantes to host the Mexican tale and become the scene of a unique dimension to theatrical history. From May 27 to 29, this new show will feature three Giants manipulated like marionettes, by tens of Lilliputians and allow the public to discover el Xolo, newest member of the Company."Xolotl is the dog of the Aztecs who made the dead cross the passage to the afterlife. The descendant of Xolotl still exists, it is this dog, Xolo, who has no hair, just skin, "says Jean-Luc Courcoult. Commonly called Mexican hairless dog or dog and loved for his gentle character, he is the dog of the Little Giant and has already won the heart of the Mexicans. I hope he will do the same with that of Nantes. "

History by Jean-Luc Courcoult
"What nobody has ever really understood is that the Little Giant trip through time. She goes, she comes, walking in the past and the future emerges to be there before us today. Anyway the first time she visited the city of Guadalajara it was in 1910 during the Mexican revolution.
Can not tell you why things are but a legend at the time, Zapata, an evening of moon, would have spoken with her.
While it does not have the power of speech, the Little Giant has in his eyes the crash, the turmoil and hopes of human history.
Still, in 2010, she was invited to Mexico to witness this epic drama that changed not the course of history but of the people who called barefoot shoes.
In this adventure, she found the twin brother of the Great Giant: the peasant, El Campesino, descended from the mountains to tread the land of large landowners. Come to plant trees to watermelons, to gingerbread or chicken thighs, it was neither more nor less repressed in the landscape.
The Aztecs offered him a dog-god in the eyes of obsidian: The Xolo, assigned to accompany the dead into the afterlife.
When the Little Giant found the brother of the Great Giant, the Xolo immediately became the companion of the Little Giant. Who knows why?
Sitting on a hill near Guadalajara, she decided to bring his dreams and memories in her home port city of Nantes.
What precipitated the Mexican God of heaven a mural painted in the manner of Diego Rivera, revealing fragments of his memory Nantes?
On 24 May 2011, a wall fell from the sky crashed into the city of Nantes.
The next day, the Xolo was placed in a block of ice.
Two days later, the Little Giant on board a ship from Veracruz, with the Giant Farmer transported in a container, docked in the port of St. Nazaire.
Both took the direction of Nantes his boat, the bus. "
